Paper Crane Studio

About

Paper Crane Studio is printmaker Sofia Alvarez’s storefront for letterpress cards, custom invitations, and community print nights. Sofia learned the trade from her uncle in Mexico City and wanted a Des Moines shop where people could feel type under their fingers. Workshops teach monoprints and simple binding. The gallery wall rotates local illustrators. Sofia’s founding belief: paper still matters in a swipe-heavy world. She still inks the presses before open and still packages every order with a tiny origami crane.
